A Cool MP3 Splitter For Recorded Conference Calls
Someone, on one of the forums that I visit, recommended some mp3 software that nicely solves a very specific problem.
Depending upon what circles you travel in, you may or may not be downloading very large mp3 files that are just one track. Furthermore, if you are, you may ultimately want to 'burn' the track so that you can listen to it later on a cd player.
Recorded interviews and telephone conference calls are typically distributed as mp3s. If you're listening to these kinds of files, then you're listening to them for INFORMATION.
The problem is that whenever you want to 'hear something again', it's a pain to repeat what you just missed - and just that - especially when you're in a car!
The solution is to automatically 'split' the single track into many smaller tracks and that is what this software enables you to do easily.
You could, for example, 'split' a four hour conference call into 240 one minute 'tracks'. If you 'miss' something when you're listening to the recording, it's easy to replay the track.
Most people won't have a need for this but it does solve a particular problem rather nicely. I'm not very technical - for all I know, maybe there is better software out there - I'm just bringing this to your attention …
