A Slight Discrepancy Between A Product And The Commercial For It
I was watching television a couple of days ago and saw a commercial that immediately captured my attention. The commercial was a sequence of tightly edited clips of amazing things such as a golf ball skipping across the water and then going into a hole.
There wasn't anything during the commercial itself which indicated what the commercial was for. At the end it was revealed that it was a commercial for Vista, Microsoft's new version of Windows. The tag line was "The Wow begins now"!
Give me a BREAK! LOL
Here are a couple of excerpts from Stephen Manes's review of Vista in Forbes magazine.
"A vista slightly more inspiring than the one over the town dump … Vista is at best mildly annoying and at worst makes you want to go to Redmond, Washington and rip someone's liver out … If I can find plenty of problems in a matter of hours, why can't Microsoft? Most likely answer: It did - and doesn't care".
However, to be fair to Microsoft, they ONLY had a bazillion engineers working on it for five years.
