Child Safe Search Engine Resources

Today I tried an innocent search query in Google’s search engine and I was horrified by the results. A racist comment was the first result that came up for one of my queries. You can imagine my disgust!

In this day and age we have to protect the eyes of our children. I can only hope a youngster didn’t type in the same phrase as me.

I decided to get proactive and compile a list of search engines that can be utilized (SAFELY) by children.

If you have children, these search engines are kid-friendly and offensive internet content is filtered out:

KidsClick
I love this site. This is a kid’s web search engine provided by librarians.

Ask for Kids
Answer’s for all of your child’s questions.

AOL at School
http://www.aolatschool.com/students
K-12 searches and homework assistance for students.

Ithaki
A good search engine for kids grades K-5.

Family Friendly Search
Perfect search engine for families who wish to avoid obscene search results.
