Have you ever needed to get something off of your chest but just can't figure out the best way to do it?  Maybe you don't have anything in particular that you need or want to say; you just feel like putting an idea out into the world. 

You can do just that with Oceangram.  This beautiful site lets you send an anonymous message out into the world.  A random person will receive the message when they visit Oceangram.  They can then choose to either throw the message back for someone else to find, add a comment and send the message on, or retire the message so that its circulation is stopped.

If you'd rather receive messages, you can simply sit on the beach and listen to the soothing waves and seagulls while waiting for a message to come in.  When a bottle is washing up on your beach, you will hear the foghorn sound and a bottle will appear in the water.  When it gets close enough, clicking on the bottle will open it up to reveal the message inside.

What types of messages will you find washing up on your shores?  Many people choose to write inspirational or religious messages.  Others write confessions or things about themselves that they have never been able to share with anyone before.  Still others simply write a poem or song lyrics that have had an effect on their thoughts and feelings.

There is something so therapeutic and calming about releasing a message into the wild.  You can track your messages if you like, but it's more fun to let them go and simply speculate about who may have gotten your bottle and what they might have thought upon reading your words.

A newer offering on the Oceangram website is real-life message in a bottle delivery.  You can now send an actual message in a bottle to the recipient of your choice.  This incredibly original service lets you send a message for any occasion to yourself or to someone else.  Your message arrives on a scroll, rolled up inside a sturdy glass bottle.  You can even choose to send the whole thing in a beautiful gift basket.  This is definitely one of the most unique ways we've ever seen to send a greeting to someone you care about.
